The Dinsmore Inn strives to ensure that your visit is as pleasant and memorable as possible. We ask that you have a look at our policies to assure your satisfaction, and contact the Inn Manager should you have any questions. When booking your reservation, you are agreeing to the following Terms & Conditions. Additional information will be provided in your confirmation email.
Arrival & Departure – Check-in is between 2:00pm-6:0pm. Earlier check-ins must be arranged in advance with the Inn Manager. Arrivals after 6pm will be structured as a self-check-in, and will be facilitated by the Inn Manager. Checkout is 11:00 a.m. Please leave your keys, keycard for the garage, and dash sign in your room. Our system operates electronically, so we will finalize your bill and email you a receipt. Please ensure you have provided the correct phone number, credit card information, and email when booking your reservation.
Providing ETA – Will you be arriving before check-in hours, during check-in hours, or after check-in hours? We are happy to accommodate our guests, but require notice to do so. Travel plans change quickly, so no worries about providing an exact ETA at the time of booking, we just want to plan accordingly to ensure a smooth arrival process. This information is especially relevant to 3rd parties booking for guests. If you know that your client will be arriving early/late, it is your responsibility to communicate that with the inn.
Breakfast – Open from 8am-2pm, Farm Bell Kitchen occupies the first floor of our building, and is kind enough to treat our guests to complimentary juice, coffee, and entrees. FBK is consistently busy, so reservations are required by all Dinsmore Inn guests. We highly recommend making breakfast reservations at the same time as your inn reservations. Please visit their website at FarmBellKitchen.com, or call them at 434.205.1538. Guests will not be guaranteed a spot for breakfast if reservations are not made in advance. Please contact the Inn Manager should you have any issues.
Cancellation Policy – All reservations are subject to a $30 cancellation fee unless immediately cancelled within 24 hours after booking. This does not include any reservations made 48 hours before arrival (meaning day-of reservations, or ones booked the day before). You may cancel anytime leading up to 14 days before your arrival, and will only be charged a $30 cancellation fee, with any previous deposits refunded. If cancelled 14 days or less before to your arrival, you will be charged 50% of your overall stay cost (your deposit). Cancelling less than 48 hours before (or not arriving for your reservation) will result in your credit card being charged in-full.
You may cancel your reservation via email or phone.
Please note that your reservation is not cancelled until you receive a cancellation email.
Pets – We do not allow pets to stay for the security of our historic building, but also due to the restaurant that occupies the 1st floor of our building. If you are traveling with a pet, we are more than happy to recommend nearby boarding facilities.
Smoking – Smoking is not permitted inside the Inn. Guests may smoke outside in designated areas.
Minimum Stay – We require a two-night minimum stay over prime season weekends and some holidays. The two-night stay requirement will be lifted on the Wednesday prior to the requested stay for any rooms not yet reserved, and only a one-night stay is required if booked within three days of the desired date.
Children – Children 13 and older are welcome at the Inn! Please inquire by phone if your children are younger and we will do our best to accommodate you. While we love our own children, we are sensitive to the fact that some of our guests have come to The Dinsmore to escape for a few days.
Fireplaces – Most guestrooms have non-operational fireplaces. Per fire code, and for the safety of our guests and inn, no fires or candles are permitted in guestrooms.
Group Reservations – Any booking of three rooms or more by an individual constitutes a group reservation. Group reservations require a 50% non-refundable deposit, and a signed Registration Form by the single-point-of-contact for the group. Up to half of the rooms in the group block (that is, the half that are not secured by the deposit) can be cancelled 30 days in advance of check-in. Inside 30 days the entire group reservation is confirmed. The group contact must provide a list of room assignments to the inn 48 hours prior to check-in.
Privacy & Security – We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not sell or distribute your personally identifiable information to anyone. Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
Payment – At the time of booking we charge a deposit of 50%, with the remaining balance finalized after check-out. Guests are more than welcome to add items and packages to their rooms during their stay. A final receipt will be sent via email 2-5 business days after check-out. Guests booking through Airbnb have already paid in full for their room, and will be sent requests for any additional items added during their stay. If you are a third party booking for a guest and would like a receipt emailed separately for your records, please note this when making your reservation or call us directly.
Damages – Any damages to the room will be assessed by our staff, then hired professionals, and eventually charged to the guest. Damages include but are not limited to: damaged furniture, artwork, glass, electronics, walls, and carpets. Any minor repairs and stains within the purview of our staff will be handled accordingly. Any damages occurring during a guest’s stay that are the result of natural occurrences (such as precipitation) are not at the fault of the guest unless due to guest-error properly securing doors and windows. Bathtubs must be filled and used appropriately, without flooding the bathroom. Any room with a bathtub also has a standing shower. Therefore, please do not use the bathtub’s spray nozzle while standing in the tub to take a shower. This results in water on the surrounding walls and floor.
